This is a summer of 1965 L-series Jazzmaster.
The guitar was Joe Riggio's personal guitar, and the body was refinished by Joe (if you are not aware of Joe Riggio is considered one of the top luthiers for this kind of work).
The guitar therefore has 3 things which are not original:
- The body refin (which is very tastefully done to recreate a 1964 sunburst and very tastefully aged) - neck has original finish
- The original bridge was replaced with a very high quality staytrem bridge
- The guitar has been refretted with brand new jumbo frets (so it's fresh and perfectly setup)
The guitar also comes with an original jazzmaster case (banged up over the years, but still useable). If you have to get a vintage jazzmaster this is a very reasonable candidate.
I include photos of my own and also photos posted by Joe of the guitar as it was before he's work and after.
