We seem somewhat inundated these days with a barrage of Special and Limited edition pedals - with some brands seemingly releasing nothing but limited runs. I’m not typically a fan of these artificially limited runs - as in effect this is simply a colourway variation that is deliberately and conscientiously being parked after a set quantity made over a few select weeks. My understanding is that these will only be available for a month at participating dealers.

The insides of the pedals have the same circuits as before while this is the first time the Dispatch Master gets the soft-touch Flexi-Switch supposedly. What is admirable about EQD is that they keep their pricing constant throughout - so they don’t try to fleece you on price gauging for Special Editions (unlike some), but they are kind of psychologically applying pressure on you via the limited time-frame. I personally feel one month is a little too short typically - as I often have commitments for the month ahead - but could conceivable get involved in the following month - but by then the shutters have typically come down.

Of these 3 I’ve always wanted an Acapulco Gold - it’s been on the wishlist for a very long time, while I’m not sure this particular styling necessarily suits the heavy grungy Sunn O))) Model T genre (more black?) - but I’m open to persuasion.

The Dispatch Master is supposedly EQD’s best selling pedal, actually with the Plumes hot on its heels nowadays. In fact these are surely 3 of EQD’s most popular pedals of all time.

I would say if you were thinking of getting any of these but hadn’t got around to it yet - and you like the admittedly attractive Aluminium and Cream colourway - then by all means get one - while your window of opportunity will for sure be short - so you will need to come to a fairly snap decision.

I know several people who collect all the different variants of Plumes - including all the Japanese Special Runs - so I would imagine a fairly strong run on that. Me personally I would quite like an Acapulco Gold - but like I said - even though I like this Aluminium and Cream combination I’m not yet 100% sure it’s right for this particular pedal. In times past I’ve gone away to ponder - and by the time I came to a conclusion - it was largely academic - as the opportunity had passed by then.

I do for sure think these are attractive - I’m not sure about the contrast between the Print and Enclosure for legibility of the labels / legends - but that really makes no difference when the pedal you’re going for only has one knob - so weigh up you choices accordingly - but whatever you do - don’t be a scalper or a flipper - pedals have feelings too - and they’re for life! Not just birthdays and Christmas!

Here follow a few more pithy facts about each pedal alongside RRP Pricing in £. £’s have pretty much become equivalent to dollars nowadays on exchange rates - while both Pound and Euro Pricing tends to be around 10, 20 or more over and above what Americans pay for those pedals.
