For sale: 2 × Ariston RD40 turntables, classic British Hi-Fi from the early 1980s, each fitted with an ADC ALT-1 tonearm and ADC cartridge.
The RD40 features a suspended sub-chassis, designed to minimise the transmission of vibrations to the platter and tonearm. Its open construction and three-point suspension system are distinctive features of this model and reflect the British Hi-Fi engineering philosophy of the period.
Both units have motors in excellent condition and are a very good basis for restoration. They require some light work to become fully operational, namely:
- New drive belt
- New stylus
- Suspension calibration
- Some cosmetic attention to the metal components
A great opportunity for a vintage Hi-Fi enthusiast, collector or restoration project.
Price is per unit and slightly negotiable.
