The premise of Gibson's Collector's Choice series is to optimally recreate the most prized examples from the brand's rich history. Sandy is the fourth guitar in the series and is based on a Les Paul with a story all its own, and Gibson Custom has managed to replicate this guitar down to the smallest detail!

The Les Paul that served as inspiration for this Collector's Choice is a 1959 model owned by the famous collector Tom Wittrock, a guitar with serial number 9-1228 and the nickname Sandy. It is one of the most iconic Les Pauls in existence, and these recreations are therefore highly sought-after guitars. Because Gibson Custom studied, scanned, and measured the original in detail, this recreation is among the most faithful copies in existence, giving the guitarist the feel of a real 1959 Les Paul!

The 1959 Les Pauls are among the most highly regarded electric guitars in history, and according to many, are even the pinnacle in this field. Equipped with a mahogany body and neck combined with a maple top, this guitar laid the foundation for Gibson's successful model, which has remained true to the same specifications over the years. Weighing around four kilograms, this guitar can even be considered relatively light.

Sandy features a beautifully faded Dirty Lemon Burst that beautifully showcases the flamed maple top. The mahogany body and neck, with their incredibly comfortable profile, have a Cherry color, and on the back of the neck, you can even find the overspray that one of the owners once applied to the original to prevent further wear. The two Zebra Custombuckers with Alnico 3 magnets also give the guitar an incredibly beautiful sound; open and articulate like a real PAF.

This Les Paul is part of a very limited edition of no more than 300 units, and this is #62 in this series. The guitar offers the look and feel of a guitar that is virtually unattainable for the enthusiast, and approaches the Holy Grail in detail. The guitar is in excellent condition and comes with a certificate of authenticity in a case.
