Vintage Professional Production Intercom – Metal Beltpack – 80s Cinema/TV Audio

A stunning, rugged vintage beltpack/intercom for film or TV production, featuring a solid, heavy-duty metal housing (not plastic). The original branding has worn off over time, but the build quality is professional-grade. Equipped with an XLR connection, a jack socket, a grille-protected monitor speaker, and volume control. Powered by a 9V battery. Excellent as a collector's item or a prop.

Tested and perfectly working

This device allowed a technician (such as a camera operator, line audio engineer, or studio assistant) to listen to communications from the control room or the main audio signal directly from their belt, while moving freely around the set. Hands-free listening (belt-worn monitor): Audio from the mixer or control room entered via the XLR connector. The technician could hear orders and instructions directly from the built-in speaker, keeping their hands free to operate the camera or handle equipment. Private headphone listening: Plugging headphones into the large jack socket automatically muted the speaker. This was crucial during actual filming to prevent the director's voice—coming from the unit—from being picked up by the set microphones and ruining the take.
