For sale is a beautiful 1947 Gibson LG-1, made in the USA during Gibson’s golden post-war era.
This is a truly lovely vintage Gibson acoustic with fantastic character, great playability and a wonderful sound. The guitar has clearly been played and loved over the years, but always with respect — it remains in beautiful visual condition and presents extremely well for its age.
I bought the guitar with an existing jack hole, so I decided to install a high-quality LR Baggs Lyric pickup system, making it ready for stage, studio and live acoustic use. The guitar also has a new set of Kluson tuners installed. These are tasteful and practical upgrades while preserving the vintage character of the instrument.
The guitar is very comfortable to play, with a responsive feel and a warm, woody, dry vintage Gibson tone. It has a beautiful acoustic voice: open, balanced, resonant and full of old-school charm. Visually, it is stunning — classic sunburst, beautiful aging and the unmistakable look of a real 1940s Gibson.
