Description
I hereby offer my beautiful Marshall 1987X MK II head for sale. This is the iconic 50-watt Plexi re-issue, known for its insane dynamics and that classic, rumbling rock sound. The amplifier is in excellent condition and is technically 100% in order.
Because a standard 1987X straight from the factory can be quite bright and incredibly loud, this head has undergone two very valuable, professional upgrades. These modifications were expertly executed by the renowned specialist Music Center Tielt:
Anti-bright modification: The well-known excessive sharpness in the highs has been professionally removed. The amplifier now sounds much warmer, rounder, and can be adjusted much more musically, without losing its legendary Plexi character.
Tube switch (Half Power Mod): A mod has been installed that allows you to flexibly switch between playing on 1 tube or 2 tubes. This allows you to halve the power output. This is the ultimate solution for achieving that delicious, creamy power tube overdrive at volumes that are still manageable in a rehearsal room or studio. Specifications & Accessories:

Channels: 2 channels (High Treble & Normal) with the option to 'cross-patch'

Extras included: A high-quality, custom-made 'Custom' fabric protective cover (dust cover) to store the amplifier scratch- and dust-free. Also possible to trade for a JTM45 or an equivalent amplifier with 6L6 tubes
This is the ultimate Plexi for the guitarist seeking the real Marshall sound, but with the playing comfort, tonal balance, and volume flexibility of today.
CH 1 was MUCH attenuated by means of R 2M2 among others !!!
MOD less shrill

top jack INPUT 1 = HIGH
bottom = LOW
INPUTS 2 both disconnected
also: upgrade PRES due to crackling
adjust bias - was set way too low - 17 mA/lamp HT430V
PS: is now at 8 ihm
