Manufacturer's description

Volante is a stereo multi-head delay pedal modelling three magnetic echo types: drum echo, tape echo and reel-to-reel studio echo, via four playback heads with individual feedback, panning and level controls. A spring reverb algorithm and Sound on Sound looper are built in alongside controls for mechanics, wear, head-spacing and low cut that shape the character of the tape emulation.

The dry signal path is fully analogue via discrete Class A JFET preamps, with a SHARC DSP handling the delay and reverb processing. Preset storage, MIDI control with USB connectivity, and expression pedal compatibility are included.

Strymon describes Volante as magnetic tape and drum-style delay with spring reverb and looper, built to recreate the nuance and complexity of classic tape and drum echo machines through natural saturation, soft clipping and hands-on mechanical controls.
