The Adrian Belew Echoflanger is a limited-edition reissue of Adrian Belew's vintage Electro-Harmonix Echoflanger. Equal parts classic modulation pedal and experimental sound-design tool, it recreates the chorus, flange, slap-back, and warped modulation sounds of the original while adding several modern updates. The original Echoflanger was a major part of Belew's distinctive sound. He used its unusual pitch and time modulation capabilities to help create sounds such as the steel-drum guitar on Tom Tom Club's Genius of Love, the elephant on King Crimson's Elephant Talk, and the rhino on his solo track The Lone Rhinoceros. The Echoflanger design later appeared under names including Polyflange and Polychorus.
