Conceived by Master Builder Andy Powers, this structural design takes an approach distinct from traditional X-bracing, significantly enhancing both the guitar's volume and sustain.Generally, a guitar's volume is largely dependent on the flexibility of the top wood, while sustain relies on its rigidity. Consequently, balancing these conflicting elements—where increasing volume often sacrifices sustain, and extending sustain often reduces volume—has historically been a challenge."V-Class bracing" was developed to resolve this issue. By imparting vibration characteristics to the top board that differ from traditional X-bracing, it became possible to ensure necessary rigidity while simultaneously unlocking the top's flexibility.
