Overview
The PRS SE Special Semi-Hollow combines the resonance and open response of semi-hollow construction with a flexible three-pickup layout designed to cover a wide range of sounds. Its mahogany back is paired with a maple top, figured maple veneer, and single f-hole, while the Orange Tiger Smokeburst finish highlights the figuring across the carved top. A 25" scale maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, and Wide Thin profile provide the familiar feel and playability of the SE platform.
A pair of 58/15 LT "S" humbuckers surrounds a Narrowfield DD "S" middle pickup, creating a hum/“single”/hum configuration with plenty of tonal range. Two mini-toggle coil-tap switches expand the available sounds from full humbucker response to clearer single-coil textures, while the five-way blade makes it easy to move between pickup combinations. A PRS patented tremolo and PRS-designed tuners with wing buttons complete the setup.
