Compared to the iconic Dyna Comp, the Custom Comp promises a more modern transparent style of compression for your chain.The MXR Custom Comp is a compressor pedal that features the rare CA3080 "metal can" IC for optimal performance. It contains internal controls for fine-tuning the attack and trim settings. The pedal runs on a 9V power supply and has controls for output level, sensitivity to set the compression ratio, and a footswitch to toggle it on and off. It provides true bypass and can compress the signal by up to 36 dB.
