A rare opportunity to acquire one of the most unusual models from Pearl's Free Floating era.
This is an original Pearl Free Floating Carbonply Maple Piccolo Snare, model FCM1435/B. Unlike the more commonly seen steel, brass and maple versions, the Carbonply Maple model was produced for the Japanese domestic market and is rarely encountered outside Japan.
The previous owner purchased this drum new in Japan. It remains completely original apart from normal maintenance items and has recently undergone a full professional service.
The drum was fully disassembled, cleaned, inspected, lubricated and reassembled. The following new components have been installed:
- Remo Ambassador Coated batter head
- Remo Ambassador Snare Side resonant head
- SABIAN Blend Phosphor Bronze 20-strand snare wires
The drum is in excellent overall condition and functions exactly as it should. The shell, frame, strainer and hardware are all in very good shape. There are a few minor cosmetic signs of use and light marks in the finish consistent with age, but no cracks, extra holes, structural damage or modifications.
