What Les Paul represented for Gibson was "Mister Guitar" Chet Atkins for Gretsch. He was also responsible for the development of new and innovative guitars in the mid-50s. As co-founder of the legendary Nashville sound, Chet Atkins was also a welcome promotional medium in the country music scene. The Gretsch guitar with the model number 6120 was the first guitar to be developed with the help of Chet Atkins.
Here is an absolutely authentic re-issue of this legendary 6120 Chet Atkins guitar, which comes damn close to the "look and feel" of the original. In fact, everything that glitters here is gold! Down to the smallest detail, the "Gretsch G6120T-55 Vintage Select Edition Chet Atkins" has been developed according to the specs of the original – even the Aged Pearloid Blocks with their unique Western motifs are right here! That's where the cactus grows, there are cattle in the pasture and fences to keep the bad bulls from escaping. Wow! Where do you find so much attention to detail these days? In order to ensure the original sound, the DeArmond pickups of the original model were reproduced by two TV Jones T-Armond pickups. They produce that wonderfully warm and round sound paired with a dash of twang that is so typical for Country, Rock'n Roll and Rockabilly music!
