Time to part with a few beloved items.
Up for sale is this Marshall JMP50 model 1986 amp from ‘74.
Great amplifier, I’ve owned this for many years and it has always served me well. Only replaced tubes. No known issues, this is ready to go.
It has a simple mod that allows you to flick between split and shared cathode. For those in the know, split cathode is the standard for 70s lead amps, resulting in a tighter and more defined response. Shared is the standard for bass amps and gives noticeably more low-end. This mod is fully reversible, but is very useful on this amp, as I think it can be a bit too boomy in the lows when using humbuckers. Now that I have it installed I would never have it undone. The lower (bass) setting is great for lower gain/clean, in particular with single coils. The hole previously housed a line out, and existing hole was used.
Original mustard caps inside.
