About this listing
The SJ is our version of what is commonly called a Small Jumbo. Although the 16-inch lower bout is slightly wider than a dreadnought, and the sides almost as deep, the tight curve at the waist creates in a very different sound chamber. SJs, especially examples in maple, typically have a more pronounced midrange response when compared to a dreadnought, making them ideal candidates for a rounded cutaway. Players looking for the bass and overall volume of a large guitar, but with lots of treble clarity and midrange crunch, often find just what they need in the curvaceous SJ.Our SJ features Eastern maple back and sides with ivoroid body, fingerboard, and peghead binding, a maple mosaic backstrip, and modern diamond fingerboard and peghead inlays.General: Brand Name: Collings Case Type: Hardshell Case Hardware Color: Nickel Made in: Made in the USA Product Color: Natural Serial Number: 37131 Weight: 4lbs 13ozBody: Body Binding: Ivoroid Body Finish: High Gloss Nitrocellulose Lacquer Body Material: East Indian Rosewood Body Notes: Body Width - 16"; Body Length - 20 1/8"; Body Depth - 4 1/2"; Total Length - 41" Body Shape: Small Jumbo Bracing Material: Sitka Spruce Bracing Pattern: Pre-War Scalloped X-Brace Purfling: Black/White/Black/White Rosette: Ivoroid with b/w purfling Top Material: Sitka SpruceNeck: Fingerboard Inlay: Ebony with MOP Modern Diamonds Fingerboard Material: Ebony Frets to Body: 14 Headstock Inlay or Decal: Ebony with MOP Collings logo and Modern Diamond Inlay Headstock Veneer: Ebony Neck Binding: .100" ivoroid with b/w purfling Neck Finish: High Gloss Polyester Resin Neck Joint: Mortise & Tenon Hybrid Neck Material: Honduran Mahogany Neck Shape: C-Shape Neck Thickness (in): 1st Fret - 0.870"; 9th Fret - 0.952" Number of Frets: 20 Frets Nut Material: Bone Nut Width: 1.6875" Side Marker Inlay: Dots Truss Rod: Fully AdjustableElectronics:Hardware: Bridge: Ebony modern-style with 2 3/16" spacing Bridge Pins: Ebony w/MOP Dot Fret Wire: Medium 18% nickel-silver Pickguard: Tortoise Saddle Material: Bone, drop-in Tuning Machines: Nickel Waverly
