A completely original early Fender American Vintage Jazzmaster (AVRI) from 2001, finished in the now-rare custom color Ocean Turquoise.

This Jazzmaster belongs to the highly sought-after first series of AVRI Jazzmasters produced between 1999 and 2012.

During that period, the majority were supplied in Sunburst or Olympic White.

This Jazzmaster features the nitrocellulose Ocean Turquoise finish—produced in limited quantities at the time—which has since become the most desirable color in the series.

As Fender never released this color again for the Jazzmaster in the subsequent AVRI series (2013–2017) or the current AVRI II series, it is difficult to find.

Unique features of this series:

➡️ Iconic case: This series originally came with the beautiful, vintage-correct brown case featuring a gold/orange plush interior. Later series came with (in my opinion) less attractive black or tweed cases.

➡️ Pre-CBS look: What makes this '62 series so appealing is that the neck—historically correctly—lacks white binding and block inlays, resulting in a pure, clean pre-CBS aesthetic.

The guitar is in very good condition and everything is functioning as should.
It shows normal signs of use and slight natural finish aging on the horn (see photo) and
comes with the case candy.
Serial number V138873 (the 6-digit format), neck date '01, and potentiometer codes '00 and '01.

This is one of the most difficult colors to capture in photographs;
depending on the lighting, the deep blue-green hue shifts in appearance.
It is darker and greener than Lake Placid Blue, yet lighter and bluer than Sherwood Green.
