Up for sale is a rare, first-generation Sonor Performer rack tom, manufactured in West Germany in 1986. ✔️
Unlike the later late-80s Performer series made of poplar, this 1986 transitional model features a premium 6-ply German Beechwood shell, built using the very same molds as the legendary Sonor Phonic series. It delivers that iconic, massive, focused, and punchy vintage Sonor sound with incredible low-end response. ✔️
Key Features & Condition:
Size: 12" Diameter x 10" Depth (Power Tom size). ✔️
Shell: 6-ply German Beechwood (verified vintage era). ✔️
Finish: Original Hi-Tech Grey wrap. Shows some minor surface scratches and cosmetic wear expected from a 40-year-old vintage instrument, but no major cracks or lifting. ✔️
Hardware: Original rectangular Sonor lugs, triple-flanged hoops, and original tom mount bracket. All chrome hardware is in fully functional condition with typical light pitting/scratches. ✔️
Badge: Original silver "Sonor Performer" badge is present and clean. ✔️
Heads: Fitted with a clear Remo Weatherking batter head. ✔️
