Very well-preserved Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple shell set in Gold Champagne Sparkle.

The Absolute Hybrid Maple series is one of Yamaha's professional drum sets and is valued for its very balanced, modern sound and high-quality workmanship.

The shells are made of a hybrid construction of maple and wenge. A core of wenge wood is sandwiched between several layers of maple. This construction combines the warm, open sound characteristics of maple with the clear projection and definition of wenge. The result is a very precise, powerful sound with fast response and a wide dynamic range.

For the freest possible resonance, Yamaha uses the YESS III Tom Mount System, which minimizes contact between the mount and the shell. This allows the toms to vibrate particularly freely. Together with the precisely manufactured bearing edges, this results in a very sensitive and widely tunable sound.

The Gold Champagne Sparkle finish is a classic Yamaha sparkle finish and, depending on the incidence of light, ranges from warm champagne gold to a strong metallic sheen.

There is a 22 cm-long crack in the clear coat on the bass drum. You can’t feel it when you run your fingers over it, and it doesn’t extend into the shell.
