It took a long time for the Kalamazoo company to finally reintroduce the Standard to the catalog: 15 years! After disappearing in 1960, the Les Paul returned in 1968, but only with mini-humbuckers, P-90s, or humbuckers in Custom form. And here it is—the most famous of them all—this 1978 Les Paul Standard. This example features the typical Norlin-era construction: a mahogany body, a three-piece maple top and three-piece maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. The pickups are T-Tops, worthy heirs to the PAF and Patent pickups. It shows a beautiful patina and is sold in its excellent chainsaw case.
