Even though this is the very first version (the handmade one) and it's now almost 20 years old, it is simply mint (veltro in the back)

One of the earliest boutique pedals ever made. You can still find old comparison videos online where it was put head-to-head with the Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive. In many of the comments, people actually preferred the Boiling Point, perhaps also because, from what I understand, it originally cost even more than the Landgraff.

In any case, I have never personally tried the Landgraff, which is often mentioned in the same league as the Klon and nowadays sells for €1,000 or more.

What I can say is that the Boiling Point is simply fantastic and extremely versatile. You can get Plexi-style tones, Tube Screamer-type sounds without the typical Tube Screamer drawbacks, and of course it also works as a boost, although using it only as a boost would honestly be a waste
