About this listing
Here is a Custom Ordered 2011 Knaggs Tier 1 Kenai. Serial # 79, I was told the first Kenai with P90's!It has a big, clear sound that responds well to nice vintage break up when pushed. It plays like a nice mid 50's Black Beauty but with medium frets. Dark ebony fret board, low fast action and incredible response to your playing style. The p90'S are Creme Fralin"s and the pots are rated 500K. It feels solid like a fine vintage instrument at 8 pounds 12 ounces. I asked for a top that was more understated and elegant, there is flame in the maple but subtle and very vintage looking. The mahogany for the body is ribbon with a tight curl again on the subtle side. Both 59 profile neck and body are super tight and straight and finished in vintage cherry. There are no wear patterns anywhere on the instrument. Showroom condition.12" fretboard radius, 24.75" scaleFret size .103" w .047" hNeck width 1.712" nut 2.274" 22nd fretNeck thickness 0.875" 1st fret & 0.979" 12th fretThe bridge is the Knaggs Proprietary Influence and along with the jack plate is a two tone brushed Nickel tune o matic style with retaining wire to keep the saddle assemblies stablizedThere are many details in the carve, inlays, purfling, binding and veneers. It has a marine theme with an incredible sea horse headstock inlay, shell fret markers and paua purfling throughout. The body binding is scraped plain maple which travels up the neck and turns curly towards the headstock to show case the intricate carving, seahorse inlay and matte finished ebony truss rod cover.Tier 1 Six Latch, Two Tone Lifton style, contour top case with Key. One Owner, Knaggs Warranty Card & Original bill of sale included.A lot of details but it looks, plays and feels like the finest, most well taken care of heirloom instrument. Very vintage inspired.
