The new Gibson SG Modern incorporates numerous modern technical features that make it more than just a simple SG. It is essentially a hybrid between an SG and a Les Paul.
The body is made of mahogany paired with a stunning maple top, which not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the instrument but also adds a touch of brightness to the tone.
In terms of the neck, the SG Modern features a mahogany neck with an ergonomic asymmetrical Slim Taper profile, paired with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard.
The electronics consist of a pair of BurstBucker Pro Alnico V pickups, known for their aggressive and defined tone. In addition to the classic controls, there are push-pull functions on the volume knobs that allow for splitting the humbuckers to achieve single-coil sounds.
