For sale is a vintage 1966 Gretsch 6117 Double Anniverary with a Shaded Golden Sunburst finish. These guitars were introduced in 1958 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Gretsch, and production continued until 1968 with a few changes in parts and design between '58 and '61.This one has a real classy, unique burst finish, lighter around the outside than most we've seen. Almost like an Iced Tea Burst more than a traditional Sunburst. It is all original and features a pair HiLo Tron pickups, a roller bridge, tone selector (bright/dark), and master volume control. "Thumbnail" inlays mark the fretboard on an exceptionally comfortable neck. It has spots of crumbly binding, as well as nicks and dings and finish wear throughout. It just recently had its neck reset, so its angle is back to ideal. Its frets are on the low side but it plays well as they are. Before the neck set, there was a screw holding the neck to its body, but once it was glued in, the leftover hole was filled with inlay material. Like a jewel! This is a great guitar with a lovely, glowing tone.It has been professionally setup and comes with comes with its original hard shell case.
