The X-Plorer was a refresh in name only, as specs remained the same between the Explorer '76 and this model. Gibson would rebrand the guitar once again in 2009, back to just the Explorer.

Body Style: Angled solidbody

Design Elements: Dual uncovered "Dirty Fingers" humbuckers, two volume and one tone control, tune-o-matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece
