This official Fender Control Area Aluminium Shielding Plate is in the vintage '57 Stratocaster style and rather than the modern adhesive sheet, the thicker plate is mounted between the controls and the underside of the scratchplate to ground the controls and help shield the electronics from noise (no wiring necessary as it will ground to the pots). A slot for the lever switch, the switch screws and the pot holes are all pre-cut in the sheet.
