It is a very special compressor with a hybrid design that uses both tubes and transistors (990 op-amps).

Great compressor designed by the legendary engineer Dave Hill who later founded Crane Song using tubes and transistors (990 op-amps). The sound is clean and precise with subtle tube overtones and warmth. Its strength is its musicality and flexibility, where it can be used both as a dual-mono-channel for e.g. bass, acoustic guitar and vocals, and at the same time is used as a glue compressor for buss compression and mastering.

The machine has been fully serviced and calibrated at Sweet Sound in Odense (Denmark), where it also received new tubes. According to Summit, the tubes don’t need to be changed very often, so it is ready for many more years of faithful service. 

It is hand-built at Summit and is made with quality components, attention to detail and good craftsmanship.
