This is an 100% analog tape echo, made in Japan in the 1970s by Flexion, also sold as Kastam.
Like the Fulltone and Echoplex tape delays, it features a single echo, but the "tempo" isn't fixed thanks to the variable echo speed option, similar to the Roland RE-201. This is probably one of the most sought-after and desired features in a tape delay. Besides the greater range of options offered by different tempos, the speed changes also create a pleasant chorus effect. Undoubtedly a great advantage! This model also has a loop option, "Rec Play / Play Only," allowing you to turn off the erase head and loop back what you played previously. This is similar to the Sound on Sound option in the Roland RE-301. This recording lasts the length of the tape, so it's relatively long! The Flexion comes standard with a pinch roller rest system, allowing for greater longevity. The device is turned on via a switch that simultaneously moves the pinch roller against the capstan. Echo can also be activated via a footswitch. It's worth noting the presence of a VU meter, important for controlling the saturation level of the input channel.
It has been fully serviced and maintained by a specialized technician. In terms of maintenance, it is 100% and ready for professional use and recording.
Maintenance:
- Demagnetized heads
- Oiled shaft
- Cleaned and oiled motor
- Cleaned potentiometers
