Rare 100% analog Evans Sound Creator - Nova 400 echo chamber with mixer and amplification (3 in 1), "Made in Japan" in the 70s, 100% original and in "Mint Condition"! Looks like it just came out of the factory! It's 230 volts and has a built-in 60-watt amplifier with two speaker outputs (L/R) at 8 Ohms. This model was the top-of-the-line Evans model and a strong competitor to the Roland RE and Korg SE. When turning on the Evans, there are two positions: up or down. If turned down, the Evans is used as an amplifier and pre-amplifier. Turning it up activates the echo motor. The cover that protects the heads and tape is like new, and inside, the Evans is also like new, very well cared for. The Evans has 3x playback heads (3x different echoes) and, like the Roland RE-201, it has echo settings: VOLUME / REPEAT / TONE and echo speed (DELAY). This varies between 'FAST' and 'SLOW' and an 'AUTO' position that automatically sets a parameterized speed that combines the 3x echoes simultaneously to simulate a spring reverb, and it does it quite well! This reverb simulation option was pioneered in the Dynacord tape echo, model Echocord S62, and later also in the Italian LEM Professional Baby. The Evans has an interesting feature: each of the 3x echoes is selected by a volume pot. We can select the volume we want to hear from each echo and combine different volumes. A very unusual refinement! Since normally we select the echo we want but never its intensity and volume individually.

Each channel is individual and controlled via dual pots for Bass/Treble and Volume/Echo (Echo being the volume of the echo mix with the direct sound). The microphone inputs (2x) are balanced. Of the 4x inputs, 3x have signal level (in dB): 2x for Microphone + 1x for Instrument + 1x with 4x switching positions, including auxiliary (AUX) (with 3x options: 1x AUX in the front and 2x AUX in the back (AUX2) and (AUX3)) and 1x for PHONO in the rear). The pinch roller is in excellent condition and a transparent plate has been fabricated to suspend the pinch roller arm so that when it is not working, it does not rest against the 'capstan'/motor shaft and consequently become 'damaged'. The objective is to increase the longevity of the pinch roller. The 3x Echo bearings rotate very well, being incredibly lightweight. They are the same ones used in HiFi systems. It has an output for connecting a footswitch to turn the Echo ON/OFF. The original Evans tape case is included! It has a VU meter that regulates the Echo volume with 3 intensity levels (L/M/H) and a corresponding volume potentiometer. The echo quality is incredibly good, with super definition and perfect repetitions. The oscillation with maximum repetitions is incredible.

The Evans has been fully serviced and treated by a specialized technician. In terms of maintenance, it is 100% and ready for professional use and recording.
