With its Wine Red finish, this 1976 ES335 simply looks fantastic!
The ES335 is the ultimate guitar for anyone looking for the characteristic sound of this famous semi-hollow body Gibson. The proven formula of light weight, powerful humbuckers and narrow neck have made the ES335 indispensable in the arsenal of many musicians. Acoustically it has that typical classic warmth that has become a hallmark of the ES335 sound. The dynamic sound translates well to the pickups that add some punch and complexity.
With a body of laminated maple and a solid center block, the ES335 is very resistant to feedback, making it an excellent companion on stage. The guitar also looks particularly stylish with its combination of a Wine Red finish and cream-colored binding, and this makes this Gibson a guitar that you can use in any situation; from rock to blues, the ES335 has already proven itself on every front!
The guitar is equipped with the well-known standard set of volume and tone knobs, but on the lower horn there is an extra switch that once served as a coil split. On this ES335 this switch no longer works because the pickups have been replaced, and they only have two wires, which means that the possibility to switch on the coils separately is missing. On these pickups there is also a sticker with 'Patent Applied For', but after intensive research we have had to conclude that these are unfortunately not original PAFs. However, the pickups are quite old, so this change took place a long time ago.
Furthermore, this Gibson is a beautiful vintage guitar that plays and sounds great, and with its playwear and mojo it also just looks very cool! The guitar comes with a TFOA passport in a hardshell case.
