As part of the modern McCarty 594 series, the PRS McCarty SC 594 McCarty Tobacco Sunburst blends vintage-inspired tone and feel with the refined build quality of the PRS Core lineup. Developed by the PRS Private Stock team, this model takes its name from its distinctive 24.594-inch scale length, a sweet spot for players seeking a perfect balance between playability and tonal response. With its singlecut mahogany body and a neck shaped in the Pattern Vintage Carve, the instrument is equally suited to both traditional and contemporary playing styles. At its core, two PRS 58/15 LT+ TCI humbuckers deliver thick, vintage rock tones with articulate clarity and tight low-end response.

In terms of playability, the mahogany neck with its Pattern Vintage profile offers comfort and control across all positions. Based on the original wide-fat neck shapes favored by iconic players like Carlos Santana and Peter Frampton, this profile features a broad thumb rest and ample mass behind the fingerboard, supporting expressive bends and smooth transitions. The short but robust neck heel, firmly glued to the body, contributes to excellent sustain and long-lasting resonance.

At the heart of the SC 594’s sound are two PRS 58/15 LT+ TCI humbuckers, offering slightly higher output than their standard counterparts. Tuned Capacitance and Inductance (TCI) technology ensures the pickups are precisely voiced for musicality, with wide dynamics and a vocal-like midrange. Players who enjoy pushing their amp into saturation will appreciate the pickups' ability to deliver thick, harmonically rich distortion while maintaining clarity and note separation. Thanks to push/pull coil-splitting on the tone knobs, the pickups can also switch to single-coil operation, offering a range of crisp, chimey tones alongside classic humbucker power.
