Top-tension 5-string bluegrass banjo, built by legendary Nashville luthier Marty Lanham in the 1980s. Neck and body are walnut with an ebony fingerboard and lovely inlays. Bought second-hand 6 years ago from the shop “New Acoustic Gallery”, based in Germany. Refurbished with new skin and spikes and setup with a new Snuffy Smith bridge. Overall the instrument is in perfect playing condition. However there are a few details worth mentioning. The back of the resonator (as seen in the pictures) has been scratched somewhat. I assume the previous owner must have played the instrument with a strap and a massive belt-buckle. It also appears that a previous owner scratched away some wood on the inside of the resonator (as seen in the pictures). I also assume that a previous owner must have needed some clearance for a pick-up or something in that order. These aesthetic marks have no impact on the playability and musicality of this instrument.
