About this listing
Here we have a 1972 Gibson ES-335TD with added Lyre Vibrola. This is a husk project I began about a year ago. I've completed a few of this projects and am very happy with the outcome of this classic. The pickguard and truss rod cover are original to the body. The tuners, bridge, and vibrola are all period correct. The vibrola arm is easily positioned and doesn't become loose when turned.I built the harness with 500k CTS pots, 0.47 orange drop capacitors, and installed and great set of Seymour Duncan aged Antiquity humbuckers and Switchcraft pickup selector. The guitar did have a solid neck repair many years ago. It is incredibly stable and a pleasure to play.It has a received a full refret with medium jumbo frets (.046" tall x .106" wide) and new bone nut. This era of Gibson is famous for 1 9/16 nut width with a slim taper neck profile. The refret offers as much playing fret real estate with no string roll-off. That said, the fret bevel is a very comfortable and not pokey. It's a wonderful player with the classic Gibson semi-hollow tone and feel. Comes with hard shell case in great condition. Thanks for looking. Any questions, fire away!
