Here for sale a superb NOS NIB RCA 5751 black plate :-) V1 grade.
With big extra double rods reinforcement.
Tests results: 121 % 121 %
NOS, new, barely used for sonic tests, during a little session in a 68 Fender showman and... what a great sounding tube !
Made in USA. The super fragile red print is still very nice !
Overall perfect condition
Very rare in Europe. especially with these reading and condition.
The holy grail of 5751 !
USA made , lower gain 12ax7 ecc83 Low microphony construction.
Incredibly extra strong readings well well over full specs and perfectly balanced.
Auditioning tests reveled a perfect V1 grade tube with excellent tests for noise floor , microphony and sound.
So great for stereo use or as a phase inverter as many use also this tube to get the best of their power section .
Perfect to lower the input gain (moderatly lower than ecc83 12ax7 about 30%)
So ideal solution for a cleaner sound with definitvely more headroom, nice in tube bass amp, HIFI etc...or a bit too hot preamp circuit. So perfect in V1 in guitar amp.
A superb way solution to increase the dynamic of any 12ax7 device with awesome warm tone in bonus.
Also my secret weapon with guitar to get a absoluty awesome crunch when it's "gain pushed " When you drive these 5751 they dont react the totaly same way as standard 12ax7. I love how their harmonics go to some distortion ! Still warm but not muddy, more defined even in low frequencies. So great sound with dirt pedal !
A very warm, clean, crispy, rich and detailed sound . GREAT sounding tube, sweeter and more creamy than the Sylvania 5751 Excellent result in V2 also or any slot. Great tube to experiment.
Hear and feel the difference of true vintage tubes.

Life test...
The Jackson 648. It is definitely one of my favorite tube testers. While it does not employ a mutual conductance test circuit, it does use an advanced emission circuit that applies separate element voltages to each tube element, and separate load circuits are also used. “These voltages and loads have been carefully selected for each tube to meet most ideally the normal operating condition of the tube.” (Source: 1950 Jackson catalog.)
In my experience, the Jackson circuitry is very effective, and often will surprise you with accuracy that approaches Hickok’s coveted “mutual conductance” test method. ( Source tubesound web site.)
I do my best to test and describe the tubes the best I can.
Note that test results may vary from one tester to an other so this must be taken as an indication, although my jackson is regulary tested for calibration.
