<strong>Maintenance</strong>

The nitrocellulose varnish, as on vintage Gibsons, plays a major role in the 'breathing' of the instrument thanks to its porous nature (vibrations are not muffled by the lacquer). This varnish is, however, relatively sensitive to contact with the plastics and foams of certain stands, as well as to certain cleaning products that are too detergent.
