About this listing
This is a Fender Japan Jazzmaster “JM-66G/EX.” In 1994, Fender USA planned a project to create models not available in the American lineup, and this limited model was produced by the Fujigen factory for Fender Japan. A Jaguar version was also made.Unlike standard Fender Japan serial numbers, this one begins with “LE”, a USA-style serial format, and it does not appear in Japanese catalogs of the time — effectively an uncataloged model.Information about this model is somewhat unclear. In past research, there have been claims it was limited to 1,000 pieces, while others suggest a combined total of 330 units between the Jazzmaster and Jaguar. It is also said to have been produced primarily as an export model but sold domestically in Japan as well. This is speculative, but two variations exist when removing the neck: some guitars have the model name stamped directly in the neck pocket (like this one), while others have a paper label. It may be that stamped versions were for domestic sale and labeled ones for export. In any case, with Fender USA involvement, Fujigen likely put special effort into production. A rare model that does not appear often on the market.※ Detailed photos of scratches are listed in a separate listing — please refer to that for condition details.Body: AshNeck: MapleFingerboard: RosewoodPickups: Original (MIJ)Weight: approx. 3.6 kgConsidering its age, there is no severe damage, but there are various scratches and some finish discoloration. The frets still have reasonable life remaining. A bushing has been installed to stabilize the bridge posts. The saddles have been replaced with Montreux brass saddles. These appear similar to spiral saddles but feature a deeper center groove to prevent string slippage. Cleaned and given a basic setup.Accessories: Fender gig bag, tremolo armThe gig bag is a non-retail item included with certain American Standard guitars and basses during the “Make History” campaign around 2008–2010 (limited to approximately 600 total units). It fits a Jazzmaster properly and is also considered collectible. Please note that this is a used item. There are no issues with its current functionality, but please understand that you may need to make further adjustments after purchase to suit your preferences.Be sure to review the photos and description carefully before placing a bid.If there’s anything you’d like to confirm, please don’t hesitate to contact us.Important NoticePayments are accepted via PayPal only. Please ensure the shipping address in your PayPal account exactly matches the one registered on Reverb. We will ship to the Reverb-registered address even if you use Guest Checkout or if the PayPal address does not match.
