Very nice shape overall, with minor signs of use.
Healthy unit, and no corrosion on chassis.
All functions, leds and buttons working.
Fully tested.

Signal is absolutely good, with a warm and super punchy sound making the reputation of this classic sampler. Great also to have the separate outputs. MIDI too of course.

The original floppy drive works as it should, smooth and silent. Tested loading, writing and formatting before sale. The original inverter for backlight is silent too, and new backlight makes the screen super comfortable, as new.

The optional SCSI interface (which was pricey and not included on the S1000) is also a great potential to expend. As you'll find modern solutions for big storage with SD cards nowadays (check Zulu SCSI).

I listed separately optional Ram Cards so the price here remains affordable. Originally the S1000 was delivered with 1WORDS RAM card, here you have already a large size ram card inserted (x4 size).

With the new PSU you can go for another 20 years.

Also included :
• last OS 4.4 version on floppy (if you turn on the sampler with this inserted, it will automatically load)
• an Akai official library floppy with drum sounds, so you can have fun right-away.
• power cable

The PB (playback version) shares all the characteristics of the S1000, except you don’t have the input and encoders are buttons.

It will be perfect as a second unit in the studio, or if you just want to trig samples from floppies or SCSI storage.
