The Electro-Harmonix Stereo Electric Mistress pedal lets you manually flange your signal, or freeze the modulated sound in Filter Matrix Mode. You can achieve some truly incredible modulations using the Flanger Depth and Chorus Depth controls together. Controls include Rate, Flanger Depth, and Chorus Depth. Use the Electro-Harmonix Stereo Electric Mistress Flanger Pedal to generate the slithering, panoramic textures of "Axis Bold As Love."

Rate knob controls the speed of the LFO signal that modules the flanger and controls the rate of the Chorus effect. Flanger Depth controls tha amount of flange that is mixed with the direct signal. More Flanger Depth, the more pronounced the effect. Chorus Depth controls the amount of sweet chorus sound. In Filter Matrix mode the Stereo Electric Mistress is factory set for maximum colour. Adjust the Rate and you've got tremelo or a sweeping jet. Adjust the Chorus and now you've got swirls and character. Plus the Filter Matrix offers some very interesting tones

Flanging can be thought of as a pitch slowly sweeping between high and low frequncy limits superimposed on the guitar signal.
