The D-28 StreetLegend (2025) is a Dreadnought acoustic guitar from Martin & Co.’s "Standard" series, featuring the distinctive StreetLegend finish. It is crafted with a spruce top, East Indian rosewood back and sides, a selected hardwood neck, and an ebony fingerboard. Key features include GE-scalloped bracing for enhanced brightness and projection, a GE Modified Low Oval neck profile (with a slightly lower profile), softened edges on the heel, neck, and bridge for added comfort, and bone bridge pins. It boasts a 44.45 mm nut width, a 645 mm scale length, and a satin finish on the top, back, and sides.
Overview of the Martin & Co. D-28 StreetLegend (2025)
The satin top of the new StreetLegend® model features visible signs of wear, inspired by historic models housed in our museum. This gives your brand-new guitar a "played-in" look that reflects a vintage soul—much like many of the prized instruments we have curated over the years. The D-28 StreetLegend is built with satin-finished East Indian rosewood back and sides, a highly resonant wood that delivers deep lows and rich harmonics. It is a well-balanced guitar suitable for all playing styles. It also includes aged open-gear tuners and an aged satin pickguard to complete the aesthetic. If you are looking for a Standard Series guitar that stands out from the crowd, the D-28 StreetLegend is the perfect choice. One of the key new features of the 2025 Standard Series is the use of Sitka spruce "Golden Era" (GE) bracing—a detail also found in the Modern Deluxe series—which delivers a more vintage, airy tone with enhanced sustain. The neck, featuring a modified "Low Oval" GE profile, retains the classic shape but has been refined to offer a vintage feel. The fingerboard has been thinned and features rolled edges for greater comfort, while the string spacing at the nut has been optimized. The new GE "Modern Belly" bridge features softer, more comfortable contours. Standard Series guitars are now equipped with bone or ebony bridge pins, depending on the model.
