About this listing
Mayones has earned a formidable reputation for building some of the most refined and forward-thinking electric guitars in the world, all handcrafted in Gdańsk, Poland. The Aquila is a double-cut superstrat, and this Cardinal White Aged example is a striking, worn-in take on the design.
The body is made from American ash, thermally treated (TEW) for stability and a lively, resonant response, and finished in an aged Cardinal White that gives it real vintage attitude straight out of the box. The thermally treated maple neck wears an antique black matte finish and a Macassar ebony fingerboard, fitted with Ferd Wagner stainless steel frets for effortless, long-lasting playability. A comfortable D profile, 12 inch radius and 25.4 inch scale make it feel fast and familiar.
At first glance the electronics look almost spartan, with just a single volume knob and a five-way lever selector. Do not let that fool you, though. A pair of Velvetrone pickups, a Solium in the neck and an Ironside at the bridge, run into a Bourns 500k volume with Mayones' own treble bleed mod, and the five-way switch opens up a whole range of split and blended voicings that reach far beyond a standard two-humbucker setup, from warm, glassy single-coil tones to tight, powerful drive. Hipshot GripLock tuners and a Hipshot six-saddle bridge keep it locked in and rock-solid, and at just 3.48 kg it is a joy to play. It comes supplied in a Mayones gigbag with its certificate of authenticity, spec sheet, booklet and a TFOA Passport.
This guitar has been carefully inspected for condition and playability, then set up to our Gold Standard by a luthier. We make sure it arrives in your hands exactly as it should: sounding its best, playing effortlessly and ready to be enjoyed from the very first note.photos of: Actual Instrument
