The Adrian Belew Echoflanger is a limited-edition reissue of Adrian Belew's vintage Electro-Harmonix Echoflanger. Equal parts classic modulation pedal and experimental sound-design tool, it recreates the chorus, flange, slap-back, and warped modulation sounds of the original while adding several modern updates. The original Echoflanger was a major part of Belew's distinctive sound. He used its unusual pitch and time modulation capabilities to help create sounds such as the steel-drum guitar on Tom Tom Club's Genius of Love, the elephant on King Crimson's Elephant Talk, and the rhino on his solo track The Lone Rhinoceros. The Echoflanger design later appeared under names including Polyflange and Polychorus.• Modes:- Filter Matrix: Fixed comb filtering for chime-like effects and manual flanging.- Flange: Sweeping comb filtering for classic whooshing modulation.- Chorus: Lush, shimmering modulated echo with chime and rotary-style sounds.- Slap Back: A short, unmodulated delay for quick echo effects.- Slap Back + Filter Matrix: Combines fixed filtering with a short slap-back echo.- Chorus + Flange: Adrian's signature mode, inspired by the "in-between" setting he discovered on his vintage Echoflanger.
