The Alcmene is All-Pedal's take on that circuit in a mini enclosure, built in Kentucky with NOS 1N34A germanium diodes and a gold-plated PCB.At low gain it adds presence and body without audibly coloring the tone — the kind of thing that makes everything sound slightly more expensive. Push the gain and the germanium diodes do what they do: a warm, organic saturation that compresses and breathes rather than slamming into hard clipping.
