Rare vintage Ovation solid-body electric guitar. The serial number indicates it was manufactured between 1973 and 1975. It features two humbucker pickups. It plays very well – low action, no fret buzz, easy neck. The frets are at about 60%. The pickups sound great!
According to the Ovation documentation: “The Breadwinner was equipped with a master volume and tone control, a low-pass filter, and a three-position pickup selector switch: neck pickup (front position), bridge pickup (middle position), or both pickups out of phase (rear position). The electronics were volume-compensated to avoid the volume drop that would normally occur in the out-of-phase position.”
A second selector switches between single-coil and humbucker. The Breadwinner was one of the first guitars to offer active FET preamp electronics. Comes with original case. See the photos for the small dents and scratches on the body and neck.
