The Sonor DK5071 drum key was primarily produced during the 1990s. While Sonor has been manufacturing percussion tools since 1875, this specific design is often categorized as a "Force style" key, associated with the mid-to-late 20th-century expansion of their hardware lines. ✔️

Type: square ⬛ ✔️

Country of manufacturing: Germany ✔️

Production & Design Details

Time Period: Marketed extensively as a 90s vintage item, though similar "square head" designs have been standard for Sonor for several decades. ✔️

Context: It was typically included with or sold alongside drum series from that era, such as the early Force series (Force 507, 1007, etc.), which became popular for their reliable German-engineered hardware. ✔️

Variants: While the DK5071 is a short-version square key, Sonor also produced the DK5072 (dedicated to older sets) and "slotted" versions for vintage kits from the 1970s and 1980s. ✔️

Today, these original 90s chrome keys are considered rare by collectors but remain fully functional for any standard square-headed tension rod. ✔️
