BUILD & DESIGN

The D9/Hi’s body is a sleek cylindrical casting with Uher’s distinctive contours—minimalist but unmistakably vintage German. The outer shell is unique to the Uher variant, offering a smoother, more refined aesthetic compared to the sharper industrial lines of contemporary Telefunken and other D-series models.

Internally, the microphone follows the classic dynamic structure of the D9 family:
a deep acoustic chamber, tightly suspended diaphragm system, and compact transformer coupling. Uher’s build quality of this era was exceptional, and the D9/Hi feels more substantial in the hand than many competing models.
