A mic that began life 1954 in HOLAND. hand made, as a classic as a Ronette crystal microphone, now reborn as a practical stage and studio tool.

The original fragile crystal capsule is included with the microphone as well. but doesn't function as well and has been replaced with a modern dynamic element, This stylish vintage shell now has in it a reliable microphone while preserving its unique mid-century feel. But this mic is built for the recording studio.


OPTICAL CONDITION
Used body with great condition chrome trim. Badge shows natural fading but remains legible. Minor surface marks consistent with age.


TECHNICAL CONDITION
Fully functional. Crystal element replaced with a dynamic capsule, extending the usable range and making this mic reliable for practical music applications. original capsule included.


BUILD & DESIGN

The body and grille retain the unmistakable Ronette look, compact and rounded with chrome trim and an oval badge. The new dynamic capsule, extending the usable frequency response and making it more versatile than the original. The original connector system remains in place, giving it the authentic feel of a 1950s Ronette. This microphone features only one cable and the ground + negative current runs on the mics grill and body alone. like in the original design.

WIRING EXPLANATION

The microphone uses its original two-pin connector and cable. Signal is carried on a single insulated conductor, while the negative/ground return is transferred through the mic’s body. This is an authentic vintage wiring method typical of Ronette microphones, preserved here for originality.

With its modern dynamic capsule, this reworked Ronette is best used as a vocal microphone and for guitar amplifiers. The forward high-mid character brings out clarity and presence in the human voice, helping vocals sit naturally in a mix without sounding harsh. On guitar amps, the same tonal lift emphasizes bite and articulation, making riffs cut through while still preserving body. Its frequency range of 80 Hz–16 kHz covers the essentials with warmth on the low end, punch in the mids, and smooth air in the highs — ideal for vintage-flavored studio sessions, intimate live sets, or creative re-amping experiments where character matters as much as fidelity.
