History
The marimba was purchased new in 2020 for a young percussion student attending music school in Samobor, Croatia.
During the period in which she played this instrument, she received several awards at Croatian and international music competitions. She later chose to continue her musical development primarily on guitar, and the marimba has consequently seen relatively little use in recent years.
It has had one private owner from new, has always been kept indoors and has been treated with great care.
Condition – recently inspected by the original maker
Before offering the marimba for sale, we brought it back to Nenad Vitko at his original workshop in Samobor, with the intention of having the instrument fully checked and serviced.
After personally inspecting and playing the marimba, however, he concluded that no service, adjustment or tuning work was necessary. The instrument remains exceptionally well preserved, properly tuned and very well played-in.
It is therefore being offered for sale exactly as inspected and approved by the person who originally built it.
The cosmetic condition is also excellent, with only minimal signs consistent with careful use. Please review the detailed photographs, which form part of the description.
Included with the marimba
The sale includes:
- complete original VITO transport bag set for the disassembled instrument
- original VITO protective cover
- the complete marimba as shown in the photographs
The instrument can be disassembled for transport, and the dedicated VITO bags make handling and transportation considerably easier.
Inspection and play-test
The marimba is currently located at Nenad Vitko’s workshop in Samobor, Croatia, where it is waiting for its new owner.
Serious prospective buyers are welcome to arrange an inspection and play-test before purchase.
This provides a rare opportunity not only to see and hear the instrument in person, but to inspect it at the workshop of the craftsman who originally built it.
Local collection is preferred. Personal delivery within Croatia or to nearby EU countries may also be possible by prior agreement.
Reason for sale
The original player has continued her musical education on another instrument, so this marimba is no longer being used.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptionally well-preserved, handcrafted European marimba with a known history, original accessories and the added reassurance of a recent inspection by its original maker.
