Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor pedal in white and black finish.I bought this pedal and have never used it. It has not even been plugged in by me. Because I have not tested it myself before listing, it is sold as photographed and described.The NS-2 is an analog noise-suppression pedal designed for electric guitar and bass. It reduces unwanted hum, hiss, buzz, and noise while preserving the instrument’s natural attack, dynamics, and note decay. Boss uses a voltage-controlled amplifier and high-speed envelope-detection circuitry to distinguish the musical signal from background noise more smoothly than a simple hard-closing noise gate. The pedal can be connected conventionally between a guitar or pedal chain and an amplifier, or its Send and Return loop can be used to isolate noisy gain pedals such as overdrives, distortions, fuzzes, and preamps. In this configuration, the NS-2 monitors the clean input signal separately while suppressing noise created by the effects placed inside the loop. The Threshold control determines the signal level at which noise reduction begins. The Decay control adjusts how gradually the sound fades after falling below the threshold, allowing the response to be set from tight and abrupt to smoother and more natural. The Mode control provides two operating modes:Reduction: the footswitch turns noise suppression on or off. Mute: noise suppression remains active, while pressing the footswitch completely mutes the output for tuning, instrument changes, breaks, or emergency feedback control. The pedal also has a 9V DC output. When the NS-2 is powered with a compatible Boss PSA-series adapter, the DC output can distribute power to additional compatible pedals using an optional Boss PCS-20A parallel cable. The DC output does not operate when the NS-2 is powered only by a battery. The pedal is in excellent cosmetic condition overall. The white enclosure, black control panel, graphics, knobs, LED lenses, pedal switch, input and output sockets, Send and Return sockets, power sockets, baseplate, serial-number label, and battery compartment all appear intact.There is no Velcro or pedalboard adhesive attached to the underside. Some light dust, extremely small surface marks, or minor storage and handling signs may be visible under direct light.The original Boss box is included. The identification code I8K1825 appears on both the pedal and the box.
