About this listing
This guitar is a commission sale. If you have a high-end or vintage guitar or bass you’re interested in selling, please contact us.Here for sale we have a Fender TL-52DEX2 electric guitar in Black finish. Made in Japan in 1996 as part of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Fender in 1946. Based on the '52 Telecaster spec, this guitar of course features a bolt-on construction comprising an Ash body, Maple neck & 21 fret Maple fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted including a vintage-style Telecaster bridge with Brass Barrel saddles & vintage-style split-post tuning machines. A pair of Fender Japan Telecaster single-coil pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way blade switch, master volume & master tone controls. The Maple neck plays very well, with the '52 'V' Shape profile filling the hand very nicely for a smooth & responsive playing experience across the register. The 'V' shape is often overlooked today amongst the ubiquitous Modern 'C' & Low Oval shapes, which is a shame as it's highly versatile profile which lends itself very well to a wide range of playing styles and techniques. Suitably vintage inspired, the 'V' profile pairs very nicely with the 7.25" radius for an authentic vintage feel & vibe. Amplified, the pair of Fender Japan Telecaster single-coil pickups deliver classic Tele 'Twang' by the bucketload. The neck pickup is broad & clear, with plenty of power to push your lead lines to the front of the mix. The bridge pickup is of course the main event however, and produces a bright & clear tone which works equally well for clean country sounds as it does for searing blues & rock solo sounds. The traditional Telecaster controls are as comprehensive & unobtrusive as ever, allowing you to dial in the perfect sound with ease. The rear of the neck demonstrates consistent light indentation which is somewhat discernible beneath the thumb.Body: Overall good condition. Considerable chipping of the finish is apparent to the edges of the guitar, most consistently along the treble side edges where areas of wood are revealed beneath the finish. All aspects of the body demonstrate consistent light to moderate scratching and indentation, particularly across the rear face.Condition of Frets:This instrument has had a recent re-fret, as outlined in the neck condition section of the Luthier Report.
