About this listing
Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS — Lake Placid Blue, Maple Fingerboard [year]Lake Placid Blue over alder with a parchment 3-ply guard and a maple board — one of the better-looking color combos Fender put on the Standard series. HSS layout gives you real Strat quack in positions 3–5 and a humbucker in the bridge that actually pushes an amp, so it covers clean, crunch, and heavy without swapping guitars.Specs: alder body, gloss polyester finish, modern "C" maple neck, 9.5" radius, 21 medium jumbo frets, synthetic bone nut, 6-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo, chrome hardware, standard cast/sealed tuners. Master volume, tone 1 (neck), tone 2 (middle), 5-position blade switch. All stock, all electronics work as they should.Condition — honest rundown:Finish crack in the clear coat at the neck joint. It's cosmetic only. The neck has never been removed from this guitar, and the crack does not affect stability, tone, or playability. This is a well-documented, extremely common trait on these — the polyester clear coat is brittle where the heel meets the pocket and it checks with normal string tension and humidity changes. Pictured up close so you can see exactly what you're getting. The nut needs to be filed or replaced. It's fully functional and the guitar plays and stays in tune, but a proper nut job (or a new nut) would be a nice to have as sometimes the g string will pop out but very minor. Easy, inexpensive fix at any shop — priced accordingly.Otherwise clean. No belt buckle rash, no breaks or repairs, no fret sprout, plenty of fret life left. Frets are in good shape, normal wear for age.Comes with Soft Gig Bag. Local pickup in Houston, Tx. Willing to ship. Serial Number: MX15575345
